A layout tool, not medical software

MDS Clinical Case Album helps lay out photographs and text on pages and prepare a PDF for printing. It does not diagnose, measure, analyse or alter clinical findings, and nothing in the app or on this website is medical or dental advice. The clinical content of an album, including diagnoses, captions and case details, is the student's own work and responsibility.

Print colour

The app converts photos to CMYK with the colour profile you choose and shows a print preview, which gives a much closer match than a document saved from Word or PowerPoint. The final printed colour still depends on things outside the app: the printer or press and its calibration, the paper, the inks, the print shop's settings, whether the profile you chose matches their press, and your screen's brightness and calibration. We do not guarantee that a print will exactly match the screen. Always check a printed proof before printing the whole album.

University and department requirements

Layouts are modelled on the case albums MDS students commonly submit, including the style used for KUHS. Requirements differ between universities and departments and can change. Using the app does not guarantee that an album will be accepted. Check the current guidelines with your department.

Patient photographs

You are responsible for obtaining the patient's informed consent to use their photographs, for hiding identifying features where required, and for following data-protection law and your institution's ethics rules. The app keeps photos on your computer and never uploads them, but it cannot check consent or remove identifying details for you.

As provided

The app is provided “as is”. We work to keep it reliable and fix the problems we find, but software can contain errors. Keep backups of your project files and photos, and check every exported page before printing and submitting. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for losses such as reprinting costs, missed submission dates, or lost files.

Screenshots and examples

Screenshots on this website show the app with illustrative sample images, not real patient photographs. Colour comparisons are illustrations of typical problems, not measurements of a particular printer.

Third-party services

Payments, sign-in, email and website hosting are provided by third parties (Razorpay, Supabase, Amazon Web Services, Google Firebase). Their availability and terms are outside our control.
